The Sixth Chakra – Ajna
The Ajna Chakra is located in the center of the forehead between the eyebrows. This area is also called the third eye. This chakra is associated with perception.Visually, our eyes take in light through the retina and transmit images to the brain via optic nerves. Because of this, our sense of visual sight is completely dependent on light, which is represented by the 6th chakra.
The Ajna Chakra represents the sense of visual sight, inituition and seeing with the inner perception; or third eye. It includes the ability to perceive that which is not experienced through the physical five senses of sight, touch, sound, smell, or taste. The inner sight is experienced in meditation, while completely awake at any time, and during the dream state in the astral and etheric planes.
This perception can be thought of as a 6th sense, intuition, clairvoyance or psychic ability. The ability to tap into clairvoyance and intuition lies within us all. This sense can be developed and fine-tuned through practice, meditation and attentive listening to yourself. The Ajna Chakra Goddess is Shakti Hakini. She is white as the moon.
The Ajna Chakra is the seat of creative visualization and manifestation. It is here in the mind’s eye where artists and musicians find creative expression. The intuition from this center is a receiver from the higher realms. If this chakra is misused and allowed to focus on lower frequencies and thought forms of darkness, the chakra becomes clouded, veiled and closed. The sensitive perceptions of the Ajna Chakra are only open when used in harmomy with the divine cosmic energies. When this chakra is open the Om sound may be heard in the inner ear.

The Ajna Chakra is associated with the color indigo. The color indigo has the sixth longest wavelength (430 nm) and sixth slowest frequency (700THz) in the visual color spectrum. The main deity for the Ajna Chakra is Lord Shiva.
The symbol for the Ajna Chakra is an indigo two petal lotus flower. The petals are thought to represent the two worlds of reality which are the manifest and unmanifest.
Blocks in the Ajna Chakra
Blocks in this chakra may result in blindness to seeing the truth and the inability to see or understand reality. Those with blocks may have feelings of self-doubt, inability to trust, or even delusions. Frequent night terrors also indicate blocks in the 6th chakra.
